Radio wasn’t outside our lives. It coincided with—and helped to shape—our childhood and adolescence. ~ Vincent Canby
You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat. ~ Albert Einstein
Merry ChristmasMiracles: You do not have to look for them. They are there, 24-7, beaming like radio waves all around you. Put up the antenna, turn up the volume - snap… crackle… this just in, every person you talk to is a chance to change the world. ~ Hugh Elliott
I think the primary function of radio is that people want company. ~ Elise Nordling
If something is too hard to do, then it’s not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the closet next to your shortwave radio, your karate outfit and your unicycle and we’ll go inside and watch TV. ~ Matt Groening
Radio is the theater of the mind; television is the theater of the mindless. ~ Steve Allen
While you are away, movie stars are taking your women. Robert Redford is dating your girlfriend, Tom Selleck is kissing your lady, Bart Simpson is making love to your wife. ~ Baghdad Betty, Iraqi radio announcer, to gulf war troops
Advertising is the art of convincing people to spend money they don’t have for something they don’t need. If advertisers spent the same amount of money on improving their products as they do on advertising then they wouldn’t have to advertise them. ~ Will Rogers
Freedom means the right to be stupid. ~ Penn Jillette
