In a move to give San Diego a locally programmed FM talk station, 103.7 FM shed some LA-based shows and will add local prgramming. CBS Radio is announcing “The Dave and Jeff Show,” the latest addition to the live and local programming at San Diego’s KSCF 103.7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show starts on Tuesday January 2. They will blend a popular mix of sports, humor, celebrity guests and compelling local topics.
Dave Palet and Jeff Dotseth are replacing the Los Angeles based show “Frosty, Heidi and Frank”. (Their show can be heard on 97.1 KLSX or on-line.)
Program Director Jim Daniels is also rumored to be adding more local shows to the line-up at Free FM.
Bringing Dave and Jeff on will help build a San Diego audience and give Tom Leykis a better lead into his 3 p.m. show. This should give Free FM a ratings boost as the Triplets, while successful in the LA market, do not have much of an audience outside of the 2nd largest radio market.
Dave Palet started his radio career in 1993 at XTRA Sports and Jeff Dotseth started in 1991 at KSDO-AM 1130. Dave and Jeff have been doing shows together in San Diego since 1998 at KFMB-AM and most recently afternoons at ESPN 800. They are known for their sense of humor and have always connected with San Diego listeners.
Dave said that, “I’ve been in this crazy business for almost 15 years and have never felt as welcomed as I have from the people at Free FM. I look forward to working with Jeff once again in America’s Finest City. We have worked for strictly sports stations in the past and 103.7 is giving us a great opportunity to broaden our skills and take the radio show to new heights. We have a great team around us with producer Cristy Westfal and Program Director Jim Daniels that will help put the show in elite company.”
The new line up at Free FM also adds Danny Bonaduce as reported here last week. Danny joins the Adam Carolla morning show.
Stay Tuned, more coming!
KSON-AM 1240 will be the new home of “The Soul of San Diego” starting Monday. Stay Tuned!
Roger Hedgecock is on the radio schedule next week at KOGO. He will also be filling in for Rush Limbaugh on the EIB Network on Tuesday and Wednesday. Last week he reported on his show about his personal services contract expiring … and station insiders said Roger was close to having a dea. No official word, it is still a …. stay tuned!
