Happy New Year 2007!

Welcome to SDRadio for 2007 … here’s a look at what will happen in San Diego radio this year:
15. Two morning shows will be uprooted and as stations reformat their music programs.
14. Finest City Broadcasting adds stations to its family.
13. KPBS-FM, already offering a quality service on their HD2 station, adds a third mulitcasting stream offering full time classical music.
12. Locally, AM HD broadcast does not add to the content and no further stations offer the hi-fi broadcast.
11. 103.7 Free FM reverses a trend: The FM talker begins to climb in the ratings.
10. KFI-AM builds a new broadcast tower and resumes 50,000 watts.
9. KCBQ-AM official announces it is at 50,000 watts.
8. KLSD-AM decides that 50,000 watts on AM 1360 is not worth the expense to have the same broadcast pattern as it does now.
7. 540 Country flips format (twice) in the year and finally settles on adult standards–again.
6. Retailors offer HDRadio in stores at affordable prices.
5. XM and Sirrus radio merge.
4. KFMB-AM gains ground, KLSD-AM gains, and KOGO-AM remains steady, in the ratings race. (Presidential election next year.)
3. Finally: an easy to use radio recorder built like a DVR.
2. Ted Leitner and Jerry Coleman make their final season together as Padres broadcasters.
1. Local radio remains the focal point when local, regional and national events happen.

Stay Tuned!
