Clear Channel adds HDRadio nationwide

Clear Channel Radio today announced that a full 320 of its radio stations in 81 markets are set to air HD digital multicasts. These additional stations represent the fourth wave of a larger launch begun in January 2006. The new channels will also be made available at the company’s HD2 streaming site [1] www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio as they go live.
In each local market, Clear Channel Radio’s HD2 multicasts either complement existing on-air programming or bring entirely new music or spoken-word genres to local listeners. In some cases, local programmers will draw from programming created by the Format Lab within the company’s Content Research & Development Group. In other cases, the channels are programmed fully locally.
While today’s announcement does not add to the HDRadio count in San Diego it does show the groups commitment to the new standard.

All the FM stations offer multicast radio. AM cannot because of bandwidth limitations. Best bet: Star 94.1’s adult, and 101.5 KGB’s Dave, Shelly, and Chainsaw all the time. The only station missing is KLSD-AM 1360. Stay digitally tuned ……
