Manning: touch down San Diego

Phil Manning heads to 91X

Heads to Sunny San Diego

ManningWelcome to Phil Manning, who’ll take over as program director of 91X. He is heading down after a successful stint at 107.7 “The End” in Seattle, Washington. Phil starts at 91X on Monday.
President and COO of Finest City Broadcasting said, “We are very excited to welcome Phil Manning to 91X and FINEST CITY BROADCASTING. We were looking for someone with a unique and creative vision for the future, along with the experience to make it happen. It was great to see that here are a number of very talented programmers out there, but Phil really rose to the top.”
Prior to his lengthy stint in Seattle, Manning was the PD at alternative stations in Los Angeles (Y107), Pittsburgh and Cleveland. He began his career with a six-year run (’88-’94) as the programming chief of Cincinnati’s WOXY, another of the fabled first generation of independent “modern rockers”.
Finest City Broadcasting is a privately held San Diego-based company founded in 2005. FCB also operates Z90.3 (XHTZ-FM) and Magic 92.5 (XHRM-FM)

Phil Manning is from 107 The End? Is this the same station where the morning show was let go due to an unfortunate incident involving drinking a lot of water?

  2. SDRadio says:

Nope, 107.7, in Seattle. 107.9 and the water incident was in Sactown. Phil is going to have fun; and used to work the Jennifer in the market. He might be bringing a better blend of coffee for the station too!
