Comments on: Laura Cain: Out for one more month

This is not a dig on anyone. I really truly am just curious…those of you who have posted comments about the show being lame, the members of the show not being funny etc. what makes you turn on the radio to 94.1 in the mornings? I once came across an “i hate rachel ray” website and it was tons of people commenting on her shows right up to the shows they were watching while posting online. They were all sort of mean little insights about her weird body shape, horrible food and her “isms” like “EVOO” or “Yum-O.” I wondered if they continued to watch her show just because they thought it was hilarious to watch or maybe there was nothing else interesting on. I happen to listen to jeff and jer some mornings. I also listen to a number of other morning shows in san diego. Just depends on my mood. There are times when I hate what they are talking about or think one of them is on the soap box for a few minutes too long. But all in all, i find it entertaining. Do I take it seriously? Do I think they are my friends? Hell no. But they don’t owe me or anyone an explanation as to why they do and say what they do and say. I can’t stand Bill O’Riley but I would never start a long series of comments about the o’riley factor being the worst show on television. And I certainly wouldn’t watch it daily. I don’t mean to offend anyone and I hope this doesn’t become a war of words. Keep on rockin in the free world..haha (that was for you insightbyjake).

It’s all about knowing that Jeff and Jer do read this post — which based on the last few weeks, we know they are feeling the appropriate critique. “Despite what you may have read, we are trying to be funny …” Thus, we are making an impact.

Bottom-line: The emperors are “widout” clothes and are very small, unfunny and hypocritical, not unlike many media types. (http://www.jeffandjerry.net/).

Seasnow, I didn’t want to disappoint you. I really think you just need to GROW UP, tee hee. How old are you, 12? MY life is FANTASTIC,I love it and I actually feel pretty blessed to have the life I do–However, it is MY RIGHT to express my opinion that the showgram has gone from something funny and entertaining (many years ago) to pathetic drivel. San Diego deserves better radio than this. If you want to settle for adolescent, repetitive, stale radio that’s your perogative. I aim a little higher for most things and from the sounds of this board so do a lot of other San Diegans. We live in a great city, unfortunately we don’t have a lot of great radio. If you think we do, perhaps you’ve never listened to anything OTHER than San Diego radio. Maybe you don’t know any better and I certainly don’t fault you for that, but I will tell you that a lot of other cities have better radio than we do. My hope in expressing MY OPINION is that someone who works for clear channel will read this and see that they need to make a change if they want to keep their listeners. I am hoping to make a difference, YOU my dear can just ignore my posts.

Seasnow…you’re correct. Here is my “arrogant, insightful, spelling correction reply:” “I think YOUR funny.” That would be, “I think you’re funny.” It’s a contraction.

And, it’s “re-evaluate,” not “revaluate.”

How about, “it very easy to turn off the power” Perhaps you could slow down enough to see the missing contraction of “it is.” Thus, one would type, “It’s very easy to turn off the power.”

Finally, “Tee hee hee” is NOT an acceptable laugh when writing. Try, “HA! Or, “Ha-Ha!”

By the way, is it your over-all belief that one should ignore “crap?” “Turn off the power,” implies a society should ignore that which is mediocre, and do little in return. Do I “turn off the power” when rap stations play music that denigrates women? Would it be “arrogant and jealous” to complain that those words offend me? Am I “arrogant” for asking that a “family” show that’s “all about the kids” actually behave like it’s ALL ABOUT THE KIDS??!!!

Random thoughts: Why this show is so LAME! (Don’t tell me to not listen — I feel the same way about the President but I still listen to what he says….)
A few years ago, my wife convinced me to go see Jer’s play “Nickels and Dimes.” What a rush-bag of CRAP!! It wasn’t a play, it was Jerry’s way of shoving his “I love animals/vegans/gays” viewpoints into a “play.” People clapped and applauded — as I sat stunned at how simple and untalented this writer must be.

If he says, “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World” once more….Neil Young swears he will come to San Diego and renounce the song forevermore. Jerry could NOT be more frozen in time. He is a “mod hipster” from 1974, shoved down our throats in 2007. His passions range from Kiss to tits to Van Halen — OMG!!! Jerry is Piltdown Man!!!

This really has nothing to do with Laura, well maybe in a certain way. I’m not sure if I think it’s great that Tommy & Laura have grown so close, or maybe a little weird. Anyway, a friend of mine likes reading some website called dontdatehimgirl.com. Someone posted something about Tommy. I won’t repost it here, but if your interested go check it out. I’m not sure if it’s true or not, but if it is then wow Tommy.

Insight and mmw I never said you were hateful. I am not complaining like you two. I am actually laughing as I type this and just stating a fact that you sound like very arrogant and jealous people because obviously you would not get so worked up over some people on the radio making a great living or comments on this board or accidental mispellings. I think YOUR funny. I think you need to revaluate your life because you are obviously not content.Again like I said if you dont like Jeff and Jer then don’t listen it very easy to turn off the power. Hey seasnow, Just where is “Omish country?” I know Amish country is in Pennsylvania, but I wouldn’t want you and Jbug to think I was being hateful for challenging your understanding of the Omish.

Also, your belief they “have the same problems as everyone else,” along with “alot of people relate to them,” leads me to ask, how many blog posters earn $3 million a year, work a four hour day and have 5 weeks a year off?!? Show me some and I’ll buy into your “they’re just like us” whine.

We’re not hateful people — we just find it funny when the overly privileged make stupid choices and then want us to treat them like everyone else. Give me their job and their monsy and I bet I could limit myself to one marriage and no drug addiction — just like most of society.

seasnow, PUH-LEEZ, time to grow up and smell the stale crap being fed to us. Even the “A”mish would see these dysfunctional overpaid group of whiners for what they really are. They ran out of material LONG ago and just rehash other stations leftovers. They’re not even creative enough to make up their own stuff.. WAKE UP! Just IGNORE the posts of those of us who have not swallowed the Kool-Aid. Whats the LAST good thing they did? Beckys House years ago? That WAS good. What happened to those guys? These silly,fun,nice, real, people are fake with fake tans, nails, boobs, toupees, teeth, and morals. There must be more important things for YOU to do than complain about us.
