Mark Larson, a long time San Diego radio icon has tabled a decision to run for Congress at this time. It’s not that he doesn’t want to, however, he explains it at his web blog: “All sorts of intriguing ideas and projects have come up… ironically all since I stuck a “date” on my decision process (by July 4) there’s been more to consider. But it’s a nice thing (and quite humbling) to hear from people with suggestions, new offers and even campaign advice. All of this has caused me to come to a decision of —”no decision” (yet) on Congress. Not ruling it out, or in. The filing deadline is a long way off (early 2008). It’s also clear that I need additional time to factor in fascinating new developments for my company, Mark Larson Media Services, Inc. In the last couple of days I’ve taken on a consulting project for a local media company. My SpeakersGroup.net been exploding with lots of new business, as has my commercial work with longtime clients such as El Cajon Ford. And guest-hosting on the Michael Reagan national talk show. There’s no shortage of things to do right now.
“It’s all good: I thank God for the opportunity to consider everything…and not miss anything along the way. I think He understands if I hold off a while longer on the Congressional adventure… Check in often — updates “as they become available”!”

Art Bell announced on Sunday night before the 10:30 p.m. break that he was retiring from radio. The long-time host of Coast To Coast AM will do occasional specials for the broadcast. He told the audience that he wanted to spend time with his wife, and daughter, Asia. On Monday, George Noory said that he would take up some additional air time, and the network would make an announcement this week on the exact plans. Coast To Coast AM can be heard on KOGO and KFI.
Dan Patrick of ESPN Radio fame is expected to be named the new host of The Price Is Right for CBS Television.
Mark Larson is expected to announce his future plans today. Among the possibilities: A run for Congress. Mark, a long time (and still remains) a San Diego radio icon, hung up his KOGO headphones, citing that the two hour evening broadcast was talking too much toll on his life. Mark has filled on the Michael Reagan show and is still causing trouble at has web site at LarsonBlog.com.
