chrissdr.jpgMonday, SDRadio will start its eight year of service to the broadcast community of San Diego. Eight years ….. As the seventh full year comes to a close, first off, thank you to the readers and supporters of the web site. I appreciate you coming by and checkin’ in.

I also thank those who write and don’t like what they see. Too right, too left, too much this, or too much that. That’s fine. You’re always welcome, and some of the writers are surprised that their comments are posted.

As the web site starts another full year of service, the motto remains the same: “For, and about, San Diego Radio“.

Thank yous: Randy Dotinga of the North County Times. He’s the only stringer that is writing about radio in the fourth estate. Best tag lines this side of the Rockies.

Ken Leighton, of the San Diego Reader. Every Thursday in the Blurt section, Ken offers insight to the radio masses. We agree to disagree.

Don Barrett of LARadio.com. Don remains my mentor, my go to guy, but mostly, he’s my friend up in the LA area.

Larry Shannon of Radio Daily News. Editor and chief of the largest clearing house of all things radio in the U.S.

Tommy Sablan, presently at Star 94.1.Thanks Tommy.

Dave Palet and Jeff Dotseth. Best mid-day show. Now part of the vast talent pool on the beach, but not out of reach, in San Diego.

Lupita Ramirez: She took countless phone calls from me on traffic tie ups from North County to San Ysidro. She also used me as a news source on a Coaster tie up when a package with wires was found at the Old Town Station. I know Lupita, lunch soon in Old Town.

Kevin Hellman of San Diego City Beat. He gets it, and so does Miss Beak.

Keith Miller and Robert at KPRI. Locally owned and operated in San Diego, the last stand-alone station in the market.

Dave Rickards, Shelly Dunn and Cookie Chainsaw Randolph of 101KGB. Backed with Emily … thanks.

Kristi Lyons, Tony and Kris at US 95.7-FM. Dedicated professionals to a country station that was made for T&K.

Hillary, best known for 91X. She’s still the DJ that gets me home while there’s traffic on the freeway. Even has a real neat nifty San Diego penned song named after her. She’s a Star anywhere her mic and headphones are.

Della June: Della has a home for you even in this wild wacky real estate market. She may be an advertiser of the web site (thanks Della!), she won’t do you any wrong even if their are storm clouds on the credit horizon.

Mark Larson, presently at San Diego 1700. Mark knows San Diego Radio.

Jim McInnis, best known for being JM of the FM in the afternoon on 101.5 KGB. He’s still on the planet.

Cliff Albert, presently at KOGO.

Steve Yuhas who deserves a full three hour show on KOGO.

Gene Knight for his DX info, San Diego background, and anyone named The Greener doesn’t have to worry about planet warming.

Gary Allyn, Neil Ross, Shotgun Tom Kelly, Tony Pepper and Frank Anthony.

Xavier, Sherry Knight and Jagger and Kristi at Magic 92.5-FM.

Cindy Pace. Original MOM member, and keeps the studio tidy until Ditch comes in the afternoon on KGB.

Hula along with A.J. and the entire Playhouse.

Chuck Buell, still a radio pro and giving me my own personal radio show on the mobile phone.

George Noory for keeping me up at night.

Dave Sniff at KFMB; along with CJ and Rick Roberts.

Cantore and Jennifer White, along with Ruggy and 91X. :-)

The entire cast and crew of the Mikey Show at Rock 105.3.

Cliff, Morgan and Tanner at KSON. Hit the stride from day one and then only got better with the bright idea and addition of Tori Peck. It just doesn’t get any better than a good ole KSON Country Breakast.

Ken Copper, best know for his K-Best days, and set the American Standard (again) with Cynthia Heath-Kerrigan at 1360 KPOP.

The kind folks at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. From Trisha St. George to John Van Zante, these folks and the entire crew in Rancho San Diego, are passionate about their pets.

There are many, many more who stop by and the list can be very long. Seasoned pros, out of town visitors, and the radio fan, say thanks — however the mission remains the same: “For, and about, San Diego Radio.”

As my own personal tag line goes, I look forward to seeing you on the radio …

Thank you for making SDRadio part of your internet travels today. See You on the radio today, and here early next week
