Roger to hit the national airwaves on Saturdays

Tells KOGO audience that he’ll take the show national

rogerRoger Hedgecock, the radio mayor of San Diego, will take to the weekend airwaves and go national. Roger told the KOGO audience before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, that “news happens on the weekends” and will help bring the issues to the air-tables.

The Radio Mayor of San Diego has formed a joint venture with Bob Carey’s Syndicated Solutions to launch a national talk show in November. With the move, Premiere Radio has dropped Roger from the role as fill-in for Rush Limbaugh on the EIB network.

rogerThe plans for Roger include a 9 a.m. to noon Saturday show. Also, Roger will send a daily 60-second “Hedgecock Report” similar to the ones on AM 600. Starting next year, the plans also include the launch of a three-hour daily Monday-Friday show.

“SSI is proud to add Roger to our company, as he’s a proven winner with an unmistakable on-air presence,” said Carey. “He is a major-league talent and winning brand who has dominated San Diego radio for years. He’s credible, passionate and very entertaining.” KOGO remains the flagship outlet for the new talk venture. More info at Syndicated Solutions’ web site.

This coming weekend, Roger hits the road to Arizona with a San Diego group of listeners. Jimmy Valentine indicates he may ride his motorcycle to the cool climate of Phoenix. See RogerHedgecock.com.
