Xtra Sports 1360 set to launch in November 1

Air America and other programming to be found on Rock 105.3 HD-3

Cliff Albert confirms the apparent switch to sports, see below

xtra.pngXtra Sports returns to San Diego on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Monday night, an email sent to the staff of Clear Channel Communications was apparently to soon in advance. The official announcement is expected in the next few days, if not sooner.

Present programming that includes Ed Schultz, Jon Elliott, and Air America will find a new home on Rock 105.3’s HD signal on KIOZ-HD3.

To listen to the digital broadcast, a new radio will have to be bought and clear reception needed to hear the broadcast. Rock 105.3’s HDRadio signal covers most of the mid and coastal areas of the county.

klsdUpdate: Cliff Albert (pictured with Stacy Taylor at an August rally) writes at the 1360KLSD web site: “While it appears the format will be switching to sports talk in the future, an official announcement about plans for the Progressive Talk format in San Diego will be made very soon.

“Thanks for your support to keep the progressive talk voice alive. As I told our listeners at the Friday morning rally where I tried to directly address their concerns, their feedback has had an impact, even if sports talk were to move onto 1360, which, to be honest, appears will happen.”
