This week marks an important milestone for all of us here at KSON. Thursday and Friday (January 31 & February 1), KSON will hold our 20th — that’s right, we said 20th — Radiothon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! Over the last 20 years, KSON Loyal Listeners like you have helped raise nearly 10 Million Dollars for St. Jude and their quest to eradicate cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

To celebrate this 20th Anniversary Radiothon, we’re proud to announce the best line up ever for our “Partner-in-Hope” Concert.

Everyone who becomes a Partner-in-Hope during this year’s radiothon will receive two tickets to the concert featuring the founder of Country Cares, multi-platinum recording artist and front man for the group Alabama, Randy Owen! Joining Randy will be pop star and newcomer to Country Music, Jewel, along with special guest Jimmy Wayne.

The only way to get tickets to this show is by becoming a Partner-in-Hope during the Radiothon. The show takes place at 4th and B downtown March 13 and is limited to those 21 and older.

As you may know, Randy Owen started the Country Cares program nearly 20 years ago after spending time with St. Jude founder, entertainer Danny Thomas. Randy got other country artists and radio stations across America to join together in the cause of the St. Jude organization. Due to the efforts of Randy Owen and stations like KSON (and, of course, our Loyal Listeners), the Country Cares program has raised $315 Million Dollars for the hospital. The research and work done at St. Jude benefits hospitals across the country and around the world, including San Diego’s own Rady Children’s Hospital.

Please join us this Thursday and Friday (5am-7pm). Everyone who becomes a Partner-in-Hope ($30/month on your credit card) will not only receive two tickets to that fantastic concert with Randy Owen, but also receive a commemorative 20th Anniversary t-shirt.
