105.7 FM, The Walrus has signed on the air and Bob Harlow is the program director. Starting May 5, Dave Mason handles the morning show. He was last heard on SignOn Radio, and previously the lead anchor at KOGO. He was best known as the morning host at Kool 99.3.
Leo Laporte gets technical on KOGO every Sunday afternoon starting at noon. The syndicated host is heard nationwide on XM satellite and also on the flagship station of KFI. Leo is a hands-on tech adviser and has one of the largest fan-base for podcasts.
SignOn Radio continues with newspaper staff. The line up starts at noon and is streamed world-wide from SignOnSanDiego.com. The leading paper in the region is also feeling the effect of the cutbacks in advertisement. In the last six months, the newspaper has made buy outs to staff members. In the opinion section of Monday’s paper, newspaper editor Karin Winner wrote about the diminishing expectations of the paper. “We can’t be a newspaper of record anymore.” That leaves a wide gap in coverage if that is the paper’s position. See the report at the UT’s site.
San Diego 1700’s Mark Larson is the master of ceremonies at the Christian Management Association’s annual convention in Dallas, Texas (this Sunday through Thursday). The event is the largest of its kind, with over 2,000 attendees representing some of the most influential ministries (World Vision and others) and mega-churches, as well as key successful businesses across the U.S. He’ll be hosting a variety of events each day, featuring key speakers including management guru Ken Blanchard and others.
Sitting in on his 5-9AM morning show on 1700AM, New York Myke Shelby today.
The Blonde On Duty, Bobbie Hill is part of the lineup on Animal Radio. Bobbie, who can be heard on classic rock 101.5 KGB has drawing power. Check her art out at BlondeOnDuty.com. A portion of the sale will go to animal welfare groups.
