KSWB TV has announced the appointment of Rich Goldner as News Director for the television station, which beginning on August 1, will become Fox 5 San Diego and will debut the four hour Fox 5 Morning News and the full hour Fox 5 News at Ten, all in high definition.
In his seventeen-year career with KTLA in Los Angeles, Rich Goldner most recently served as News Director of the award winning Southern California news operation. Prior to serving as News Director at KTLA, Mr. Goldner held the positions of Executive Producer for Prime News and Executive Producer for The Morning Show. Prior to joining KTLA, he was with CBS News, New York on the CBS Morning Show as Associate/Remote Producer.
“The San Diego television market is about to be reinvented with the debut of the Fox Network on the new Fox 5 San Diego. We will be adding twenty-seven hours of weekly local news programming for our viewers, all of it in high definition. Rich Goldner is a major market news director with the experience and judgment to help make our news not only successful, but outstanding”, Vice President/General Manager Ray Schonbak said. “Rich knows Southern California local news and its audience, he knows the “New Tribune” and he is ready to help us build the next great local news operation. We are very pleased to have Rich to lead this exciting launch”, he added.
KSWB TV, currently affiliated with The CW Network, will become the San Diego home to the highly rated Fox Television Network on August 1. The station will feature the NFL, NASCAR, Major League Baseball, American Idol, House, 24, Bones, The Simpsons, America’s Most Wanted and other Fox Network programming. Additionally, the station will continue to be the popular home for weeknight comedies Family Guy, Two and a Half Men, Sex and the City and more.

KSON’s morning crew of Cliff and Company went to Vegas for the Country Music Awards. While there they got to hang with some great country stars, including Keith Urban.
While the slogan may apply, but the crew of Cliff, Morgan, Tanner and producer Tori lived it up while in Vegas!
