San Diego TV Icon Bob Dale is remembered

bobdale.jpgSan Diego TV icon Bob Dale died on Monday. His family released the information today. Dale was known for his folksy and personal method in front of the camera. Working for KNSD-TV 39, Dale, made his start in the market at KFMB-TV.

Reader Darren writes: “I had the occasion to meet Bob Dale a few times, a very nice man. Once, it was on a PSA fam trip that Bob was on (he was also a pilot). I had made many contacts in TV/radio/news, never heard anything bad about Bob, only good.”

Ken Copper checks in: “Sorry to see the story of Bob Dale’s passing. What a nice man he was. I hadn’t seen him in years, but the few times I was around him he was one charming son of a gun.”

Bob was cremated on Wednesday and no public service was planned.
