KPRi changes the line-up

A new station order starts on Monday

Locally owned independent rock station 102.1 KPRi has announced a new on-air line up. Effective Monday, Oz Medina takes over the KPRi Morning Show> He is replacing Madison who moves to the mid-day slot 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Meg Banta will transition to KPRi’s night time show 7 p.m. – Midnight and will also host a Saturday morning edition of her popular “Sunday Morning Unplugged.”

KPRi Vice President and Station Manager Bob Burch said: “The purpose of these changes is to make KPRi a better radio station. We’re delighted to add Oz Medina to our staff. Because of his years with 91X, San Diego and KBCO, Denver, he has a base of experience that is both rich and deep in presenting the KPRi format to a discerning audience.”

Burch adds: “At the same time, we need to enhance our efforts transitioning KPRi into the new digital age. Madison has been leading that effort as our web master. His new assignment puts him in a position where he can contribute even more.” Burch continues: “Audience response to Sunday Morning Unplugged is unprecedented. We’ll be adding a Saturday morning version, also hosted by Meg Banta.”

Madison said that “After 10 years of hosting the morning show, it’s time for a change for me, especially given the new responsibilities I’ll have. While I leave the morning slot with some wistfulness, I think overall these changes will make KPRi a better, more interesting station. I’m excited I’ll be part of it.”

“I’ve wanted to be part of KPRi for a long time, ” said Oz Medina. “I can’t believe this opportunity has come along, but I’m visibly excited.” Oz worked at KBCO in Denver for 12 years. The station is one of the leading examples of KPRi’s “Adult Album Alternative” format.

Meg Banta added, “I think a change of scenery helps us all from time to time. I’m delighted that the “Unplugged” idea is both thriving and expanding.”
