San Diego’s own Shotgun Tom Kelly made a trip to Japan to see his son, Nick. He is in the Navy and is stationed on the USS Blue Ridge, based in Yokosuka. The flagship for the U.S. Seventh Fleet, the Blue Ridge is a frequent visitor to many ports in the Far East.
Shotgun writes about his trip: “My vacation to see my son Nick in Japan was wonderful. He squired me around like royalty, with trips on the Bullet Train to Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Tokyo, and road trips to Mt. Fuji and Yokohama. I also toured the Navy Base he is stationed at in Yokosuka and the USS Blue Ridge where he is an IT Specialist.”
The afternoon host who is calling K-EARTH 101 home, has been moving and shaking. “While I was in Tokyo, there was an earthquake with a 6.8 magnitude. That’s 12.2 on the Richter scale for me in less than a week!”
Thanks Shotgun!
