Region could keep area code 760 if successful

no442_216_animated.gifScott Chatfield, who had ties with local radio, and the Leucadia backer of Mike Keneally has drawn a line in the telephony sand. He started a web site called Keep760.org so North County didn’t have to go through an area code change this fall.

His web site, in part, helped convince the California Public Utility Commission to “re-open” their decision of having San Diego north change to 442.

See Keep760.org for details and how to attend the meeting, slated to be held in Carlsbad.
