Mark keeps it right in San Diego

clintons.jpgSan Diego 1700AM’s Mark Larson opted not to go to the political conventions this time, partly due to commitments with Southern California speaking engagements. On Tuesday this week, he emceed the big John McCain event at the Grand Del Mar. The sold-out reception raised $1 million for McCain’s campaign and featured actor John Voight (father of Angelina Jolie). Voight’s featured in the new season of “24″ and in the new movie “An American Carol”, opening soon. Word is that Larson spent extra time backstage with the GOP candidate, getting direct updates on current issues, in addition to working with Jon Voight on the actor’s special remarks.

Mark’s morning show is packed with newsmaker guests covering the DNC and RNC political conventions. Regular correspondents include Dick Morris, the Wall Street Journal’s John Fund, Cal Thomas, Bob Beckel, Kellyanne Conway, noted historian Victor Davis Hanson and conservative icon Phyliss Schlafly, among others. The show airs 5 to 9 in the morning on 1700; sister station to XX 1090 and 105.7 FM The Walrus.
